KELLY

So this is Kelly. She is not a real bride. She was married years ago and has a beautiful set of images to prove it. She is a designer and stylist and very pro expression through clothes. We got to talking about how brides come in all different styles. No longer do they have to follow the rulebook. They can show their tattoos, they can wear vintage and cowboy boots, they can just be themselves. So here is Kelly, my alternative bride. www.kellyekardt.com

Chelsea Engagement

A glass of wine is never a bad way to kick off a shoot. So I met Allison and Sebastian in their local pub the Cross Keys Chelsea. Born and bred in the America they certainly brought some of their state side charm to the shoot.

We took a stroll past their gorgeous home, across the bridge and through to Battersea park. Here we were greeted with the perfect blossom.

This pair are serious fun. I can’t wait to see these guys again at their December wedding. I think this one is gonna be big!

Barbican Engagement

There is nothing I love more than my work reconnecting me with old friends. Alex and I have not seen or heard from each other in over 15 years. That is such a long time! However when I met with him and his amazing (Alex you’ve lucked out on her big time!), fiancee Ella, it felt like just yesterday we were in our 6th form Art room. But it goes back even further than that. We were in the same class from 4 years old so I am sure at some point we must have got married in the playground!

Both architects, these guys are understandably totally in love with the Barbican. They live there, so have a much sort after, access all areas key. We had a real giggle finding special spots for the official wedding pictures in a few weeks, but then I swooped them off to a magic spot I had found. Here countryside wild flowers meet the brutalist (they taught me that term!).

There is no doubt in my mind that these two are a winner of a pair. I can’t wait to shoot their wedding in a few weeks. One thing though… why oh why did we not all meet up before I left London?! We should have played! Oh well, we have a spare room in the country!
